today's heavy workload test is very interesting it's between the $899 OnePlus 13 versus the $1299 s25 ultra even though there is a $400 difference in the official price but the OnePlus has the same Snapdragon 8 Elite almost the same screen resolution and both are running Android 15 that means there is no excuse for the s25 ultra to lose this test so let's find out what's going to happen if you are not familiar with the heavy workload test each phone has to run four heavy tasks at the same time for 30 minutes as shown now on the screen without any crashes or thermal warnings and here are the rules both phones are running the latest stable software version available at the time of filming this video I will be using cellular data instead of Wi-Fi with 5G set to Auto both are set to their maximum screen resolutions which is slightly higher on the OnePlus side the 120 HZ refresh rate is AC activated and the screen brightness is calibrated on the same light meter and now let's begin the test will start with 80% battery on board and the initial temperatures in Celsius from left to right are 31.7 de and 32.8 respectively now let's to prepare the phones task number one is a Microsoft teams meeting with the screen sharing enabled you can see the screen sharing performance on the secondary phone throughout the test task number two is to play a 2160p video on YouTube in picture and picture view then start Google Maps navigation in the background and finally play Asphalt unite when it comes to the graphics both are set to 60 frames per second with the highest settings possible unfortunately the s25 ultra started to them the display while showing you the game settings but anyways there is one important thing worth noting before starting the stopwatch if you saw my first heavy workload test for the OnePlus 13 versus the 16 Pro Max the game Graphics were notably worse than the iPhone and the other Android phones I have but thankfully after the latest update to asphal unite now it matches the s25 ultra Graphics quality now it's time to start the stop watch and let me fast forward to the first Trace to show you what I mean as you see the quality is identical with the same effects on both sides so no ifs and buts this time so far the OnePlus 13 is already ahead in the brightness with a similar screen sharing performance on both sides this is not a good start for the s25 ultra so let's fast forward to the next checkpoint the s25 ultra dropped the brightness once more between the first and second race and here's a screenshot from the first race menu to show you the difference and you can also see how brighter is the OnePlus 13 when you look at the picture and picture window things remain the same from this point till the 6 minutes Mark when the s25 ultra started to slowly dim the display for the third time which you can see when you focus on the picture and picture window now there is a big difference between the two plus Samsung's flagship dropped the game FPS and the doesn't look as smooth as before while the OnePlus 13 is still the same in everything one more thing worth noting is the s25 ultra started to take relatively longer to connect to the game server which is an indication that it started to slow down the internet connection to minimize the heat so let's keep [Music] going and here you go after 16 minutes and 40 seconds the s25 ultra gave a thermal warning and closed the picture and picture window that's worse than my previous video against the 16 Pro Max it was able to reach 24 minutes so now it's 7.3 minutes worse plus the temperature maxed out at 47.3 De C which is too high for such performance and it lost 11% battery shortly after at the 17 minutes and the 29 seconds Mark the OnePlus 13 got its first brightness and the game FPS drop but the game is still playable and everything else is working just fine so let's see if it can make till the end back to the s25 ultra my assumptions for its underwhelming performance are it's either the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy is worse than the normal version in the OnePlus 13 or Samsung failed to optimize the software as good as OnePlus or the cooling system is much worse or maybe all of them there is only one month difference in the release date in favor of the OnePlus 13 so I will give the s25 ultra another chance after a month or two when Samsung pushes a better software to see if that will make any difference I'm also working on my in-depth review for the s25 ultra and after using this phone as my daily driver for 13 days straight the maximum screen on time I was able to get is 5.5 hours which is also a lot worse than the OnePlus 13's 9 hours of a screen on time so if you want to watch my full review Please Subscribe and hit the Bell icon to get notified when it's published so far I'm really impressed by the OnePlus 13 performance so let's fast forward to the next checkpoint here's one final look at the performance and the as you see everything works just fine and it was able to make it till the end the temperature reached a whooping 49° at the hottest point which is a bit too high and it lost 177% battery you might say it lost 18% not 17 as the battery indicator says 62% but this 1% was lost while measuring the temperature which I won't count now let's compare the numbers the 1 plus 13 is the only winner while the s25 ultra gave a thermal warning after 16 minutes and 40 seconds Additionally the OnePlus has a slightly higher screen resolution the graphics quality and the screen sharing performance were identical but the OnePlus 13 was better in the brightness by far with a higher game FPS for a longer time the battery consumption per minute also goes to the OnePlus 13 that consumed 0.56% versus 0.66% on Samsung's side when it comes to the temperature I won't be able to compare as the s25 ultra didn't reach the same point but I will mention them anyways the OnePlus 13 maxed out at 49° after 30 minutes versus 47.3 after 16 minutes and 40 seconds so that's a clear win for the OnePlus 13 which is $400 cheaper with a higher screen resolution running the same Android version and the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset as I mentioned at the beginning of the video Samsung has no excuse to lose this one but unfortunately it did so that's pretty much it for today stay tuned for more videos and don't forget to subscribe and hit the Bell icon to be among the first first to get notified about my in-depth review for the s25 ultra and a lot more but for now thanks so much for watching and see you in the next video
