this is Google Apps updates Roundup number 104 in this episode I will show you 31 new features in 14 different Google apps so don't forget to subscribe and hit the Bell icon for more and now let me show you what's new before starting let me remind you about the wallpapers by in-depth th reviews app that you will find its Google Play Store download link in the description and recently I uploaded these new 24 wallpapers so you can enjoy them on your phone and now let's get back to Google apps let's start the episode with YouTube and here I'm going to show you three new changes the first change is revert to the previous mini player if you remember in my previous episode I showed you a minimal design for the Min player but Google reverted back to the same old design as before the second change is the new music note icon that appears next to the official music channel of the artist that you will see over here and also when you play the video you will see it next to the channel name name at the bot the Third change is on Google TV now you have the ability to choose what to display while playing music videos when you click on the display button it will give you three choices either the album art the lyrics or the video one last thing I want to talk about is the new high quality audio feature I talked about in my previous episode and I showed you how you can enroll to this experimental feature if you are a premium subscriber but I didn't show you how you can confirm that this song is in high quality all you need to do is is to go to the premium controls and you will find a high quality audio tag under the song name next we have Google photos and here I'm going to show you two new changes the first change is related to the video editor and now when you go to the main video tab you will see a new button here at the top right corner called add Clips which will allow you to combine multiple clips together even photos can be used and when you hit create it will take you to the same highlight video editor that will allow you to change the aspect ratio add music organize things the way you want trim and so on and so forth the second change is in the info pin when you go to the horizontal Carousel you will find that the set as wallpaper is now a separate option instead of showing under the use as like before but now when you tap on this one it will immediately take you to Google contacts to set this photo as your contact picture but now this is how you can set it as a wallpaper the second app is Google Chrome and here I'm going to show you four new changes the first change is related to the tabs manager when you go there you will find a new search bar at the top that when you tap on it will immediately show you the last open tabs by default but when you start searching it will give you results from multiple sources either from the tabs already open your history or from the web we also got some new changes under settings the first one is under the tabs menu and then inactive now you have the ability to choose the time frame before automatically closing your inactive tabs we got a new toggle called archive duplicate tabs that says all duplicate tabs will now also be archived with the exception of the most recently used copy in addition to close after 60 days and finally you have the automatically open tab groups from other devices toggle that I already talked about in one of my previous episodes the Third change is under the profile menu and now you have the ability to choose what exactly you want to save in your Google account you have the and tabs bookmarks reading list addresses and more passwords payment methods offers and addresses using Google pay and finally the settings last but not least when you add any page to your bookmarks you will see this new floating card at the bottom to let you know where the bookmark has been saved either to your Google account or on device tapping on this card will take you to the edit bookmark page where you can modify things or delete it directly from here next we have Google Play Store and here I'm going to show you two new changes the first change is the ability to access the collections page directly from the app shortcuts menu but previously your only way to access collections was through the widget but now you have a different way the second change is in the app listing page now when you start to scrolling you will see the app name and the install button at the top at all times and this is how it works when you scroll back up now let's move on to Google app and here I'm going to show you two new changes in circle to Circ sech all of them are just visually changes and the first one is when I trigger Circle to search and start drawing on the screen as you see here the faster I move my finger the bigger the animation and vice versa plus it uses more eye-catchy colors unlike before not only this but when you try to translate anything on the screen you will see a new animation that looks very similar to Siri in iOS 18 now let's talk about Gemini and here I'm going to show you five new Chang the first change is the updated Gemini Live card in the notification shade so when I start live and then go back home you will see this Google phone inspired card with the ability to hang up hold and continue and every time you tap on these buttons you will get different haptic feedback for each one the second change is the ability to reference your previous chats to ask more questions about the same topic instead of starting from scratch this feature is only available for the Gemini Advanced users so let me show you a quick example I first asked Gemini about some tips to diversify my investments and later I did request a summary for the same conversation and here is what I got plus I have a reference for the same exact conversation at the bottom the Third change is the removal of the older Gemini models from the list you will notice here we no longer have the 1.5 Pro and 1.5 flash but the stable 2.
O flash is Now the default option and the same applies to the free accounts plus I found this brand new Carousel to give you some suggestions on top of the text box which I don't see in my Advanced account as you see here once I switch it disappears back to the free version now you have the ability to upload files from your phone or Google Drive for analysis which was limited to the paid accounts only and lastly I received this email from Google talking about a new update to Gemini live to make it more Dynamic and engaging it says here is a more natural way to have a free flowing voice conversation with Gemini on your phone I didn't have time to test this update yet so please let me know in the comments if you think it's better now let's talk about the phone app and here I'm going to show you four new changes the first change is the thicker search bar and for reference here's how it used to look in the previous version not only this but when you tap on both you will see a new design as well the area at the top is bigger and there is a horizontal line that separates between the suggestions and the search bar that we didn't have before and when you open the keypad on both you will see new changes as well now we have a back arrow at the top left corner plus previously when you swipe down it will dismiss the keypad and give you the option to Surge but now the swipe down doesn't remove the keypad and your only way is to use the back gesture or this button to go back to the previous screen and lastly I got a missed call earlier today and when I tapped on the item I got this new text saying previously tried to reach you with the count of missed calls Google messages also got some minor tweaks so let me show you two new changes the first one is the new rounded menu so for example when I open any of my conversations and then tap on the ellipses you will see that the menu now looks totally different plus the animation is different as well it's more bouncy when compared to the previous version and the second change is the new arrow that appears when you start scrolling tapping on it will take you back to the top now let's talk about the apps that only got one new change and I will start with jcam now when you activate video boost on your pixel phone and then quit the camera app it will save your preference the next time you open it and as you see the feature is still active in Google contacts when you go to the profile menu you will see a new item for the sync settings tapping on it will take you to the Google contacts sync from here you can see the last time your phone synchronized your contacts and the count tapping on the status will take you to another page to turn off the feature refresh the sync or access the Google contacts sync notifications in Google Maps when you explore new places the pins will turn into small dots to make things less cluttered and to see them you have to zoom all the way in and then they will expand into the normal size in Google Drive for some reason we got this gigantic plus button at the bottom right corner I don't know why it's that big but as you see it looks really weird in YouTube music when you go to the mixed for you section you will see that some of the mixes now got different names in instead of only using numbers like before for example we have discover mix energy super mix Feelgood super mix sad songs and so on and Google also have different designs for the mixes now so they don't look as boring as before and lastly Google Tasks got its own website which will allow you to manage everything remotely without the need to have access to your phone so that's pretty much it for today those are all the new changes I wanted to show you in Google apps please don't forget to subscribe and hit the Bell icon to get notified about my future episodes and if you spotted any new feature in Google apps please reach me out on social media or drop me a comment to include in my future episodes but for now thanks so much for watching and see you in the next video
