Hello everyone and welcome to the channel. And the iOS 26 beta 9 is here and I have it installed on the 16 Pro Max to show you some new changes that no one else talks about. So without further ado, let's jump in. Let's start with the update size and the build number. As usual, the update size is 10.86 86 GB on the 16 Pro Max and the build number is 23A 536A. And now let's take a look at the new changes. Let's start with the lock screen and I spotted two minor tweaks. The first one when you try to add a new wallpaper. Now you will see the photo location under the thumbnail instead of using the generic word photo like before.
And I think this is a new feature and please let me know in the comments if you agree with me. The second change is related to the lock screen clock. So let me pick the same exact wallpaper I used in one of my previous videos. And when I tried to use the solid effect on my clock, as you see in the screenshot, it looks different. So, it used to look very similar to liquid glass, but now there is a big difference between glass and solid as you see here, which wasn't the case before. Moving to the home screen and with beta 9, I think Apple updated the light reflection animation and now it's more visible when I tilt the phone. So, please let me know in the comments if you feel the same. In Apple photos, there are two new changes. The first one is under the collections tab. You'll note here that this card has a different design. The text box here is smaller and the text inside is darker. And when you tap on it, you will see another font used here. And also there is a new glow animation around the text box.
So that's it when it comes to the new features which is expected as this build is mainly focused on bug fixes and improvements which is something I'm going to talk about later. But first, if you like any of the wallpapers you see in my iOS 26 videos, you can find them on my Patreon page using the link in the description below. And here's the latest collection that you can get your hands on. And now, let's continue with iOS 26 beta 9. Now, let's talk about my experience with the performance and the stability while filming this video. Unfortunately, this build is slightly worse than beta 8 in my opinion as I came across some visual issues and sometimes the phone freezes when I do certain actions like browsing web pages in Safari and also when I try to open the focus menu. As you see, it doesn't respond. Also, sometimes the phone freezes while typing. Other than this, it works, but it's not as good as beta 8. And also I did a Geekbench score.
And here's my history. On beta 8 I got 8,800 for the multi-core and 3500 for the single core. While on beta 9, I got 8,600 for the multi-core and 3,400 for the single core, which is slightly worse. Other than this, Apple shared a lot of bug fixes and improvements in the release notes of beta 9 that I'm going to leave its link in the description below if you want to go through it yourself. By this, I covered everything you need to know about iOS 26 beta 9. And if you are interested in iOS updates, please consider subscribing and hit the bell icon to support the channel and get notified when they get released. And if I missed anything in this build, please let me know in the comments to include in my future videos.
But for now, thanks so much for watching and see you in the next.
